End of the Semester blog

Since I started this blog at the beginning of the year, I'd have to say that I've learned a lot more about Web 2.0.  Using things like Twitter, Blogs, and RSS feeds are now a lot easier for me.  I've actually considered using the RSS feeds that my G-mail account gives me to keep better track of the things I really like to follow.  I've never knew that Blogs and Twitters could interact with RSS feeds.  I also never knew what RSS feeds were for until I took this class. I'd have to sincerly thank this course for teaching me about them and how they can be useful.

Wordle

I used this program called Wordle on the internet and created this mis-mash of words that it found on this blog.  It's quite an interesting collage of words.  Proper attributions to those mentioned in the image (too many to mention, but they own what they own)

RSS Feeds in a company

The above hyperlink shows how a company could successfully use a RSS feed to help themselves.  By posting up information on the blog, it also sends out information to the subscribers to tell them about the information posted on the blog so that they can be informed of when it updates and what it says in summary.  This has bolstered their reputation and sales.

RSS Feeds

After having used the RSS feed reader, Google Reader, I can say that I really enjoy using them.  Following feeds are much easier as it reduces the number of tabs I have to have open to find updates on each of my favorite websites and it saves time from me having to click throuhg multiple links to find these updates.  However, it does have some downsides to it.  While it does reduce time spent, it also doesn't give full updates.  This means only getting a portion of the info or not getting something that you wanted to see.  There is also the possibility that something will not show up due to a system error with the RSS forcing you to go to the site to get the updates.  That's what I could find out about the RSS!  It was really cool to use it!

Wiki for Business

This article talks about how a wiki is used to help with a business.  By having all the people in a company access to a wiki, they can update the information on it and thus help to boost what people know about the company by just accessing the wiki's site.  Wiki's can also be used as private workspaces for the employees and as a guide that the employees can access at any time to check what they need to do for a process.
Hi, my name is Thomas. I'm a bit of a computer geek and really love anime. My favorite websites are: animefuel.com, youtube.com, and facebook.com. I like these sites because they have things that can help me through the day.

Formating Blog Posts

Today I am trying out some of the fancy formatting options in Blogger.

I can add hyperlinks, images, and videos to display on my blog.  I can also edit posts in my blog.

Welcome to my blog!

I'm excited to be creating this blog for my Web 2.0 class.  I am on the Web all the time and I am excited to learn  more about how it works.
